Father's Day is the one day of the year when you can completely and exclusively thank your father for being there for you. It gives you the chance to show him that you're grateful for all the favours he's done for you over the years, for all the lifts he's given you to the times he's helped you move flat and for all of the times he got you out of a jam or reminded you how to change a plug. It's little wonder you'll want to put a smile on his face on Father's Day.
Every dad is different, but all of them will appreciate the time and effort you put into choosing him a nice card and gift for the special day. If he's the kind of dad who seems to have everything and you're struggling to think of something new to give him, then why not consider vouchers? These days you can buy vouchers for everything from a trip to the cinema to a sit down meal in a classy restaurant.
However, if you're thinking of doing something a little more memorable this year, you could buy vouchers for unique experiences. He's sure to always remember things like a visit to a racing track or ride in a hot air balloon and if you can afford to give him a spare ticket to take along whoever he wants to, all the better.
On the other hand, CDs or books are always enjoyable presents and are easy to find. Don't worry if you're not sure what he's listening to at the moment, just sneak a look at his shelves next time you're visiting and take a note of the authors or artists that seem to feature heavily. Type the names into your favourite online shopping store and they will probably provide you with a suggestion list of similar artists, that way you could find something in the genre he likes without having to worry that he has it already.
Make sure you can return them if you're not sure whether he's got them or not though!
If you'd rather not risk choosing a gift he may have already or not like, then why not treat him with special Fathers Day chocolate gifts and sweets? That way you'll be guaranteed that he'll enjoy his present and, you never know, he may even feel the need to share with the whole family.
